🎓 J.R.’s Corner

If Change Is a Constant, then Courage Must Be Too.

We’re halfway through 2025, and “stability” still seems like a wish, not a plan. From federal shutdown warnings to supply chain disruptions, from international elections to the ongoing redefinition of work itself, I’ve been hearing the same questions in nearly every coaching conversation:

“How do we lead when everything feels like it might change tomorrow?”
Here’s what I’m telling our leaders while reminding myself:

We don’t build modern organizations by avoiding change.

We build them by cultivating behaviors that outperform in change.

That starts with courage. And courage doesn’t always look loud.

Sometimes it sounds like:

  • A mid-level leader asking a hard question in the right room
  • A senior executive saying, “I don’t know, but I’ll learn”
  • A new coach helping their client name the thing no one’s said out loud yet

Courage isn’t a heroic moment. It’s a habit.

And it’s the foundation under everything else.

Coach with Courage.

🛠️ This Month’s L.T.C. (Lesson, Tool, Case Study)

Lesson: Reflection in Motion

Great coaches reflect, adjust, and re-engage — over and over again. Whether it’s reviewing a coaching session, preparing for a client, or working with AI simulations, every moment is an opportunity to learn.

Case Study: From Skeptic to Superfan

“One session with the AI persona reminded me how much tone and timing matter. I caught myself interrupting too early — and the tool helped me realize it. That’s real-time growth.”

âś… Revisit the ICF Ethics Case Study 3.7

✅ Practice interpreting client scenarios: this is where FLA’s AI simulation tools can help!

The ICF recommends setting aside at least 10–12 hours of focused study time before sitting for the exam. Our alumni report that the most challenging sections often involve ethics, power dynamics, and contracting, so give these areas extra attention.
